Pittsburgh Rock Scene Rallies to “Pay Back” Two of its Own.

Jim Sidney  and Bonnie Patterson of Gourmet PA Systems have been in dedicated service to Pittsburgh area and national musicians, studios, nightclub owners, sound reinforcement companies, music stores, theaters, and much, much more for over 20 years.  Anyone who has taken any part in the Pittsburgh music scene in the past 20 years, whether they know it or not, has used, owned, or heard or seen equipment Jim Sidney and Bonnie have repaired or maintained. From Heinz Hall, to Ogelbay Park… Benedum Center to the smallest, darkest rock clubs.…to countless local musicians, hobbyists and music stores.

Ask any of their loyal customers, and they will probably have a story about a time when they were unable to pay and Jim and Bonnie did their repairs anyway, knowing that if they didn’t have their gear they wouldn’t be able to make the money to get out of the situation. It was the kind of break many needed to get back on their feet. Or, they might have a story about the time that Jim and Bonnie went above and beyond, working through the night to complete an emergency repair that would save the day.  Everyone who has worked with this dynamic couple knows that they have conducted their business and their lives with an unparalleled sense of fairness, diligence, and dedication to their customers and friends. They have saved countless performances, tours, and well, frankly, asses over their years by selflessly going the extra mile in their customers’ and friends’ times of greatest need… and now it is their time of need, and they who need the break.

On June 28, Bonnie was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic *** cancer. Due to her illness and the side effects of her chemotherapy, she has been unable to work.  Jim has been trying to mind the critical things at the shop and to continue serving their customers, but his priority has, of course, shifted to supporting Bonnie in her recovery.

Since they are their own primary staff, this has put a heavy damper on their finances – a situation that is further compounded with a growing mountain of medical bills.  They are in great need of financial help.

Join a host of Pittsburgh musicians and bands from the past and present as they rally together for an evening of fun and music to support two of their own at one of the area’s premier performance venues, Bridgeville’s Rhythm House Café:

  • The inimitable Ike McCoy Band reuniting one last time for a very special, one of a kind performance. (perform 10:30-11:30)

  • Pittsburgh’s own Grapevine, a favorite at The Rhythm House, with very special guest guitarist, Rob James from The Clarks. (perform 9:00-10:00)

  • The Yards, fresh from their triumphant summer performances at Heinz Field and Giant’s Stadium with Bon Jovi and Nickelback,  (perform 7:30-8:30)

  • Surprise guests – With all the musicians who will be coming out in support of Jim and Bonnie, you never know who might take the stage for a song!
